1- Short-term residence permit:

For real estate owners, in order to apply for a short-term residence permit, foreign investors who own real estate in Turkey must submit the documents (original passport, notary and certified photocopy of the passport, 4 biometric photos of the applicant, evidence of health insurance, Proof of sufficient and sustainable financial resources for the duration of the stay to the relevant, and photocopy of the tapu) to Provincial Directorate of Immigration Administration (Göç İdaresi) once an application is submitted through the e-residence system. 

Short-term residence permits are given for investors for only 1 or 2 years. 

2- Long term residence permit:

For a long-term residence permit, foreigners who have continuously resided in Turkey for at least eight years should submit all the mentioned documents above (in short-term residence permit) in addition to a Copy of the previous residence permit document and Police record document to the relevant Provincial Directorate of Immigration Administration (Göç İdaresi)

3- Student residence permit:

This type of residence permit in Turkey is given to students who reside in Turkey for the purpose of entering primary or secondary schools or who are planning to study at the levels of an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctorate.

4- Family residence permit:

This type of residence permit in Turkey is given to the foreign spouse of a Turkish national and his/her minor and dependent children. 

5- Humanitarian residence permit:

This type of residence permit in Turkey is given to those who cannot return to their country of residence due to emergency reasons and who are in Turkey without a valid visa or residence permit but no deportation decision has been applied against them.

Foreign children who reside in Turkey with family residence permits can benefit from their education rights. These foreigners also do not need to obtain another residence permit. A consent certificate, birth certificate, and undertaking certificate are required for student residence permit applicants who are under 18 years of age.
